Cathy Moore can tell stories for days about her students and her career as a special education paraprofessional for TK Schools. After 31 years at TK she laughed and cried off and on as she recalled students and memories – some funny, some sweet, some difficult.

Preschool 
Preschool begins Aug. 28 and follows the district elementary calendar. Open houses will be held Thursday, Aug. 24. Families are asked to attend during time slots assigned by the first letter of their last name.

Aug. 24: 5 to 5:30 p.m. Families with last names beginning A-H
Aug. 24: 5:30 to 6 p.m. Families with last names beginning I-R
Aug. 24: 6 to 6:30 p.m. Families with last names beginning S-Z

Early Childhood Special Education
Aug. 21: 4-6 p.m.

Indoor recess is anything but boring for students in Thornapple Kellogg’s Early Childhood Center preschool program, thanks to a DonorsChoose effort by preschool teacher Theresa Orr.

Thornapple Kellogg Preschool open enrollment begins at 8 a.m. Feb. 6 for the 2023-2024 school year. Enrollment will be completed online this year at ecc.tkschools.org.

Paxton Dammen led his grandparents down the hallway of the new TK Early Childhood Center to show them his new preschool room - “the purple room,” he said pointing toward the end of the hall. He climbed the rock-climbing wall in the hallway, ran circles in the gymnasium/multi-purpose room, and couldn’t decide where to go first on the natural playscape-designed playground.
